• My mum didn’t name me after Elton John.
• On my final school report the headmaster wrote “Elton is something of a maverick character”. I liked that.
• I used to write video game reviews for FHM magazine.
• I discovered funk at 14, and it’s never let me down.
• I got my first SLR camera in 1985, and have used a Mac since 1991.
• I once met Quentin Tarantino in a curry house in Chelsea.
